There is some sort of black magic out there... called a Charge Pump.... It can make negative voltages from positive voltages... so you wouldn't have to deal with that positive ground crap.
I seriously don't get why companies that produce positive ground effects for the mass don't use charge pumps in their products. Maybe because they want to suck some more money out of people from repairs they do because some dudes plug positive ground effects in like normal effects.
It's not that big of a deal to use a charge pump. A few parts more and you can power the effect off a daisy chain if you'd like to.
I seriously passed on some good deals for cool pedals because I didn't want to deal with that positive ground crap.

I sold my Fuzzy Lady because of that... was tired of using a battery.

I don't mind using batteries... just have to unplug the damn thing in your pedalboard when you're done. It is WAAAAY more convenient not to have to use the damn things, but no big deal if you do.

Probably gonna pick up a Dream Crusher.

I'd certainly prefer to run my pedals without batteries. Thanks Lord for including an AC on my old IC Big Muff. And RAT, for that matter. And Small Stone. I'm not a "BATTERIES AFFECT THE SOUND" kind of guy, but whatevs. If I can't use an adaptor with something like the Dream Crusher or Fuzz Face... I'll just cram a battery in.

Cell phones use batteries. Laptops use batteries. Cars use batteries. Until Tom Dalton comes out with this solar-powered phaser, I'll do what I need to do. I agree with trying to help out OUR MOTHER PLANET, and I do what I can to reduce/reuse/recycle.

HIs mind rocker (tonebender 1.5/ge fuzzface) has a filter/tone control. The stock one has no fuzz knob (fuzz maxed) but he can do up a 3 knobber if you ask.

The protecting nature thing is more of a secondary thing for me, it was meant as a joke. In my experience batteries always were a pain in the butt. Every time they died I did not have any replacement batteries at home, they died pretty fast when I forgot to unplug the input- which also was kinda annoying, and it was freaking expensive to buy so many batteries.
Now with my power supply- switch it on- pedals on. Switch it off- pedals off. No need to bother about batteries, no need to buy a bunch of them every month.

it's not about nature preservation for me, i just want my power to be continuously reliable

it's a matter of comfort i guess? :idk:

Thats why I never pulled the trigger on this same pedal, just seems ridiculous to me.

Those old 60's fuzzies sound really different when used with a battery vs a 9v tap.
Some even argue the battery is integral to the sound/design of the fuzzface/tonebender (not really the case for the muff).

I've got a tone bender that sounds like boring grandpas sterile blues rock shit when used with my pp2 but when on battery it's a rip roaring nasty fuzz.
There are some that call me...morningstaru?

It's because of the resistance/capacitance of the battery. A power supply like a pp2 is isolated, regulated etc so no battery-like capacitance there and the resistance has a completely different "behavior".
That's why some people/some pedals really make a difference between alkaline and zinc carbon batteries. Different behavior, different sound.

Whether or not pedals sounds better with a battery I think they should always have the option of using a 9V adapter too. Adding a charge pump to a circuit is easy and does not require many more parts.

I like a tone control on a silicon fuzz face. A bias control is more useful on a germanium fuzz face.
