PROBLEM SOLVED!
Okay, so I guess I should start this off with my current guitars/ living situation:
I've got a Dean Vendetta, which was my first guitar from back in the day that I'm thinking of putting to rest.
I've got a Peavey T60 which I got from BlindToFaith that rips.
and lastly, I've got a Squier Strat that I got about a year ago in a trade which I gutted and put a P90 that Officer Bukowski gave me into the bridge.
My dilemma is this: I just bought a Pig 90 from Bareknuckle with all intentions to put it into the Squier Strat since the p90 that Bukowski gave me would be better in the neck. BUT I've stumbled across an Xaviere Jag with an aftermarket neck for $160 that I could throw both 90's into and have a little nicer guitar.
Should I:
A) keep the Strat and swap in the Pig 90. No money lost or gained.
B) Buy the Jag and swap out both pickups, get rid of the Strat and Vendetta, sell some pedals to recoup the cost of the guitar
C) Sell the Pig 90 and forget I even was going to replace anything
If I get the jazz, I'll be setting it up with Heavy Bottoms so I can use my A-A-D-G-B-E tuning
Kind of torn, and not too sure what pedals I'd sell, but I figured I might get some input from y'all.
What do you think? I've been playing my Squier for doom and black metal. Never seen a jazz in either situation, but I'm not afraid to try it.

Re: Guitar Dilemma (HELP!)
whatever you do, dump the Vendetta. I had one. it spent more time in the shop because the fucking input jack kept coming loose. i spent more on repairs than i did the guitar. never played a Jag, but i don't think you should be stuck with a guitar that won't play doom after you sell all your shit. personally, i'd put the pig90 in the strat and see what you think. worst case is you don't like it and take it out. no harm done. i'd start there and see if it even covers the sound you want it to.

Re: Guitar Dilemma (HELP!)
I've had the Vendetta for 7 years now. It's pretty beat to shit at this point. I think I'm going to put it in my closet and forget about it.
I think I will put the 90 in the bridge, see how it sounds. I really dont have a shit ton of money to throw at a new guitar but jazz masters have always intrigued me for whatever reason. I guess it just feels a little silly to me putting a $140 pickup in an $80 guitar, but it plays well I suppose, and I'm used to the strat style body

jazzy's have that awesome look, but a pickup change at a shop will cost you $20. if you don't like it, $20 to take it out. new guitar? $160. just makes sense to me.

i reckon i'd put the PU i have in the guitar i have, because it's the least expensive option. Give the Vendetta to a kid that needs an axe, use it for weird tunings or as a test bed, or give it a Viking funeral. you can always put the P90 PU or PUs in something else if you decide you don't like them in the Strat.

The sensible thing would be to go with A then see if that makes you stop thinking about option B. Could work since you apparently like playing the thing. If it does, good for you, if it doesn't go with B.

Thanks dudes. I get back in town tomorrow, going to throw the pickup in my strat and see how it sounds. If I don't like it, I think I'll see if I can't sell stuff for the jazzy
The idea of two p90's instead of just one is a little enticing to me

If you like the way it sounds in the strat, just keep it there and forget the Jazzy.
As sexy and cool as it may be, it's just another guitar.

oh, yeah. a P90 in the neck position is one of nature's wonders. in many ways the ideal neck PU, i think.

I agree. I'd really like to snag it, just gotta look around and see what I can sell to make up for it:(
