...hm...
I have yet to spend over $200 on a pedal, so I'll never get a chance to play with this.
That whole screws-as-knobs thing is messing with my head, but in a good way.
And the iron cross is associated with German regimes but not specifically Nazis. I know it was used during WWI as well.

the Iron Cross was not banned; it's a military decoration which predates the Fascists by many years. its use was discontinued after the war, and new medals issued in 1957 for WWII vets without the swastika from the originals which was now illegal to display. the swastika and other specifically Nazi emblems are banned in Germany, and i believe in some other EU nations as well.

I didn't read any info..... because the website kinda made my brain hurt. haha. BUT... "100% analog signal path" could mean just that, your guitar signal stays analog... but that doesn't account for any processing of that signal. Are you getting those fuzz/dirt sounds from components clipping your signal, or is it digital processing? 100% analog signal path doesn't really answer that question. Although just because there are presets and it appears digital doesn't mean it's actually digital. Ibanez (I think) had a line in the 80's that had buttons instead of pots (and I think presets), but the actual circuits were analog.
It's getting old seeing the word "tone" in all these pedal names.

I'm not really pushed about the sounds and $320 is way too steep for me. Plus that Iorn Cross looks lame as hell, I can't pull of the biker / quasi-Facist look.

Call me old fashioned, but I'll take switches, knobs, and rotary switches over a digital interface any day.

Hey everyone!
I believe it was Deltaphoenix that sent us an email so I thought I would drop in and answer some questions. Gives me a chance to use the account for the first time.
The NerFuzz is 100% analog in the signal path. The traditional mechanical pots have just been replaced by computer controller solid state pots. Think of your TV's volume control that you can use the screen's on board buttons or the TV remote. It just made sense with all the sounds and being under digital control already that adding memories was easy enough and would be appreciated. It does add to the cost of course.
The circuit is an original circuit not based on anything previously. That maybe or may not be a good thing. It is fun to have a new design with new sounds but it may be difficult if you are planning to replace other pedals that do not have a similar circuit configuration as the NerFuzz. Its one of the those try it and see deal which is where the 30-day demo deal we offer comes in.
The touch controls, raw metal foot plates, the matte black powder coat, it is about keeping things clean, simple, and tough. It does have a gothic/industrial look, I do stylize myself partially from that culture, but its about practicality first. I like things to last. Plus as a manufacture we don't make money servicing product, we make money selling product so by putting literally a few extra bucks in to make the product last means we spend less time servicing and more time manufacturing. The customer gets a better product too. Everybody wins in this case.
I will also point out that if you don't want the program-ability, size, or cost we have the Acute NerFuzz which is a smaller, single memory, single foot plate version that runs only $200. It has the same circuit but the EQ has been brought down to a single control.
The "NerFuzz" name is just a play on "nervous" as the fuzz can behave oddly like a nervous person. The "TubeUlent" is a tube preamp that when people hear it they become turbulent at how good it sounds. The ModestScream is a modest gain overdrive screamer variant which has a high level "mod"ifcation. The "Acute" line are smaller versions that make people say "it a cute version". Bad puns aside it is us trying let people know we don't take ourselves too seriously. With the iron cross, industrial look, and TTG name people might get the wrong idea. Even "The Tone God" name is a joke. Basically its saying lighten up, life is short.
Interesting that people see the iron cross and not the whole "Excrossmation" logo. The logo is my personal logo (with the TTG added in the middle) and reflects on my personal philosophy of living in the moment and being yourself, freely and proudly. The iron cross is a symbol that I always like as a kid. I didn't know any of the history of the symbol, just liked the way it looked. Later on I learned the symbol in Rock N' Roll is a throw back to motorcycle culture (I'm a fan of motorcycles too) which is where we get things like the leather jacket. The original bikers were soldiers and it is traditional for soldiers to take the defeated enemy's most sacred symbols and wear them as a sign of victory and their way of life. So wearing things like the iron cross in motor cycle culture means the opposite of the original meaning so in this case its a sign of freedom not oppression. Well that and it pisses stuck up people off which bikers like to do.
So that added value of representing freedom makes me like the symbol more. I could point out that the pope has one on the front of his traditional mass garment or that the fire fighters symbol is an iron cross but you keep going on with little point. Really in this case its just what we use it to represent. And no I am not of German decent.
Now to the fun stuff. It was suggested we have a ILF tourbox of the NerFuzz. I like the idea and am up for it. Has it been done on ILF before ? How should we do this ?
Your Tone God,
Andrew

Hey Andrew. Glad you stopped in and let us know what is up. Yeah I did bring up the tourbox. It has been done on here before. Basically, I guess, you get to set the ground rules. It could be a 500 or 1000 post minimum, or a time period on the board with allowable exceptions at your discretion or whoever you let set it up. Basically everyone who wants in PMs whoever is running it, tells them their address to figure out the logistics of who gets it in what order so the pedals don't criss cross the country more than needed. Set a time limit like 5 or 7 days, whatever, that people can have the pedal. Surely a glitch or two will happen along the way. Whomever is in on the tourbox reviews, or demos the pedals, whatever time and technology or inclination allows. Surely some other people that have been part of some tourboxes on here can pitch in.
