Most covered rock/guitar song of all times?

Post by metalmariachi »

I’d say Santo and Johnny’s Sleep Walk from ’59 covered by
The Ventures, Roy Clark, Chet Atkins, Joe Satriani, Less Paul, Ritchie Valens,
Jeff Beck, Danny Gatton, Brian Setzer, Hank Marvin, Al Caiola, Deftones just to name a few.

Any other contenders?

"Sleepwalk"?

Guitar? Yes

Rock? No

I'm voting for "Louie Louie".

Don't know if that's the right answer, but ... :idk: :snax:

It's probably either Louie Louie or Gloria.

"It is unknown exactly how many versions of "Louie Louie" have been recorded, but it is believed to be over 1,500 (according to LouieLouie.net.[31]), surpassing "Yesterday" by The Beatles as most recorded rock song ever.[9]"

"Louie, Louie" would be my vote, as well.
