npd (sort of): lovepedal babyface users ?

Post by deutschmark »

hi everybody

bought a babyface yesterday, sounds good!
two things: it's engaged with an audible pop/click which sounds kinda annoying to me, is it normal ? and it also brightens my tone a bit when engaged regardless of the level settings - okay to me and may be a feature (kinda embosses the tremolo'ed parts) but i'm just curious if anybody experiences this.

thx cool cool people

ps. as far as i'm concerned, lovepedal is kinda meh here but still.. ;)

have you tried it on its own power supply, or at a different spot in the daisy chain if you're on a OneSpot-type dealio? i've found that some boxes will pop on actuation when they're before/after other items, particularly buffered ones, in the power supply chain. especially if you're using the eight-plug chain with another chain plugged into it. at one point my tuner was generating some really interesting signal interference at about 12kHz every time i turned it on.

the perceived brightening might be a volume boost...i was looking at the Babyface when i was investigating trems and IIRC it has an internal gain trim, doesn't it?

yes, i meant that internal gain trimmer by the "level settings" i was writing about.. maybe i didn't mess too much with it yet though.
for powering i'm using a dedicated output of voodoolab pp2+, no daisy chain.. also tried a cheapo 9v adapter and it made the trem squelch in a really weird way :)
i have a generic boss 9v adapter somewhere, will try it..
