Speaker Cranker on bass

Post by JimmyTurbo »

Apparently no one knows how it sounds on bass.
Or they wont tell.
So, I bought one!
Should be here in a few days, maybe tomorrow.

Speaker Cranker arrived last friday!
Had to work all week-end though...
Luckily I'm a sound engineer, so I took it with me to the studio.
Used it on one song and it was really, really cool.
Testing it tomorrow night through the big rig.
More after that...

I can't post clips from the recording session (as I'm sure you understand),
but I'll try to make clips later this week!

Just got back from rehearsal.
SC sounded AWESOME through the big rig (AD200BmkIII, Trace 2x15").

I can also confirm the Speaker Cranker sounds hawt on bass. It was a '67 P Bass though so that might have something to do with it.

No bass cut? I suppose I could try it out for myself at the local shop that carried EQD!
Good deals on ILF: too many to list, just ask!

I haven't forgotten that I promised clips.
I just didn't have the time yet...

CLIPS ARE HERE!

Post by JimmyTurbo »

Hey guys,

let's see if this soundcloud thing works...

First clip is with a Fender Sting Signature Precision (with Quarterpounder PU):

Second clip is with a '78 Gibson Grabber G3:

Settings are in the comments I left in the soundcloud thingy.

Sweet, it really doesn't sound like it cuts any bass at all. I'm intrigued!

Played it through the big rig tonight.
No bass cut that I can hear.
Nice.
Kept the pedal on all the time... :joy:
