Stop the Muffsanity....
I have a Muff problem.
I am completely and utterly infatuated with the layered Big Muff tones of Siamese Dream. To that end I have been on a bit of a spending spree lately.
EHX Little Big Muff
Barber Trifecta
Black Russian Big Muff (small box)
OLC Whisker Biscuit
Yet I still find my eye wandering to a couple of Wren and Cuff built beauties (Toll Font Russian and Box of War).
I know that Billy used an opamp muff on SD. Is there anything out there that is similar?
My recording technique lately is doing multiple tracks of guitar (4 or more) each using a different Muff-style pedal and that seems to be giving my tracks some really good sonic variety.

Made By Mike and Stomp Under Foot does an OpAmp Muff.
Also, John (Basic Audio) had an OpAmp Muff for sale in the Shark Tank for a while. Didn't check to see if it's still there though.

I could think of worse things to have than a muff problem.

Re: Stop the Muffsanity....
Thanks for the suggestions.
Are there any good op-amp options that are less noisy? All of the pedals I have so far are super-noisy...some of which can be attributed to having the gain cranked up with a Jazzmaster. I noticed a lot less noise with my Les Paul.

It's not my thing, I actually hate the SD tone with a passion
But... I didnt just post to troll, Billy used a Fender Blender stacked with an IC Muff for his tones on the album
As for noise and buzz, such is the nature of fuzz

I have a MadeByMike OpAmp muff, and it fucking nails some of the Siamese Dream tones, if that's your thing. My own usage has made me realize that it sounds absolutely tits on bass.

I had one as well, the MadebyMike really does get the tone.
Good dealings with: benjuro, hatshirt(2), Eric!, insubordination, theavondon, skullservant, Ilikewater, GardenoftheDead, AndyTran, behndy, JerryTRCD, StopReferencing, philibis, jfrey, bob the robot, Noise..., space60y(x2), jskadiang, Ryan(2), Helter, mordecainyc, many moreChankgeez wrote:True, but you can also use the Klon as a tremolo. I could be wrong, but from my understanding Corgan's use of the Fender Blender is widely over-exaggerated. It was mostly used on a solo here or there. I have a Fender Blender and it's definitely not the SD sound... even stacked with an ICBM. But like I said, I could be wrong.

^hey well fuck do i kno. Like i said ive never been into the album or emulating anyone's tones in general; its just what ive heard in my forum travels.
Made sense to me cause the silver rose (made for billy initially) is a Superfuzz + Big Muff, so it made sense to assume octave fuzz + big muff was his tone

Well...the MadebyMike Dream Box certainly looks like the play doesn't it?
The power of Corgan compels me.

I thought the origin of that box was a request for a fuzz for bass. Superfuzz does seem to really love bass.

Re: Stop the Muffsanity....
either the pumkin pi or the dream box should get you close.
iirc, the dist+ big muff is what was discovered to be the "siamese dream tonez"
