I'm at the point now where I'm looking at everything from getting my guitar properly shielded (a MIM Strat), to isolated power, to trying the EHX Hum Debugger. My house was built in 1920 so I'm sure a lot of it is a crappy power supply. Also I still get buzz from my squire when going straight into the amp (no pedals in the chain whatsoever, and I've tried three different amps). I have a Boss NS-2... it's fine and dandy for a noise gate but not good for sustaining notes and them getting chopped off unnaturally. Any input or advice from the OP would be great!
More fuzz. Problem solved.
I wish! Gotta throw some clean tones in there once in awhile.

What pedals are you using? What order is the chain? I'm no expert but I've spent shit loads of time getting noise out of my rig, and at the moment it is pretty much silent... maybe I could use my awesome powers of deduction to help you out.

That’s quarter-assed at best.

Shielding your guitar and getting a good power supply is the way to go, bro

Like I mentioned above even if I plug my guitars straight into my amps I still get hum/buzz so I don't think the effects chain has anything to do with it! But since you asked the chain is MIM Strat -> Polytune -> SupaChan -> Singing Tree -> Wolf Computer -> EHX Memory Boy -> EHX Stereo Pulsar -> EHX SMMWH -> VOX AC4TV and EPI Val. Jr.. Using the dirt pedals increases the noise of the hum/buzz (no surprise there!).

That's the conclusion I'm coming to also. Any guitar manufactures make new models that are already shielded because it's apparent that cheap to mid-range guitars (like sub $400 do not)?
Now I have a different problem, I get no hum whatsoever from any of my pedals, just when I click my Superfuzz on I get this awful uncontrollable microphonic feedback unless I turn the tone knob on my bass all the way down

Shit sorry dude, missed that you said the buzz was present even without pedals...
If you plug your guitar in to someone else's rig and get the same noise then you know it is your guitar. Easiest solution might be to just get some hum cancelling pickups - I'd try that before shielding the guitar, which is a pain in the arse. That way you don't risk your toanz being affected by any hum reduction devices, and you'll probably make your guitar sound more awesome to boot. You could try even picking up one second hand and changing one pickup just to see if it makes a difference before blowing money on three of the bastards. That said, if you've got a humbucker in your strat and it's still making noise then that might not help.

Thanks for the suggestions and thanks for the link! I'm currently looking into to how much it will cost to have the local music store in town shield my guitar. I think I'll try that first. Definitely gonna look into the EMI filter also!
