No idea to be honest. I believe that Gibson owned/bought out Lab Series, other than that, nada. But it is a monster. Sounds great clean, easy to punch through the mix and plays nice with pedals. You can get massive amounts of bass out of it. I ran it through a Framus 2x12 cab with V30s but the were too flubby and nasal and broke up too early with the L11, so I replaced them with Eminence Texas Heat. They're a great match, and can handle the lows.

A little guitar shop near me has two of those right now. I've been tempted to buy one. How do they sound on bass?

I've never tried it with bass. Though with guitar it has tonnes of bass....

I love my JC120 for bass, just want a 2x15 to power it through as well. Works great for the rusty box/4545/zvex machine, LOUD.

i've played through the Gibson L5 and it's a great amp. i love JC120s in other people's hands, but i've never actually played through one. and for a small amp, the Vox Pathfinder is quite nice.

My drummer just got this old Silvertone (or something) on the cheap.

We're pretty excited about it because our old bass amp was a crappy thing that I found in a parking lot and it was pretty much broken and sounding horrible. This amp sounds surprisingly rad. I was just boosting it with my SHO a bit and it was blissful.

Another vote for the JC's. I've got a JC-60, I love it to death. Suuuper thick but still nice and crisp, if that makes any sense.

Nice find! I used to have the green version. They are pretty cool. Still have the smaller 40xl guitar amp (tube though).
