I had Dude Ranch and Dookie when I was in HS. But I still preferred Rancid.

with the exception of the Descendants, i'm going with "neither pop nor punk." seriously, Blink-182 are about as punk as the Cranberries. less, really. if folks want to enjoy that sort of music, fine...there are Green Day songs i don't hate. but get the taxonomy straight, PLEASE.

I went to Warped Tour in 2001 for free as the special guest of The Explosion. Went, missed The Explosion due to them playing at ten, saw Less than Jake, then bailed because it was 115 degrees.

Loved this shit when i was 13, slowly paved the way to real punk, then 80's hardcore, then into more and more real, good music
So its hard for me to hate, it has its place, ill just never willingly listen to Green Day or Blink 182 ever again

sadly... green day gets played about 5 times a day on the radio out here...
I think it is funny though that green day inspired Slayer to do a punk album... almost like the eagles inspired punk players in the 70s

no doubt. i've been in outdoor venues in the Bay Area when it was 100° and it was terrible. 115° in an amphitheatre in central Texas would be like a reflector oven. my skin is peeling just THINKING about it.

Green Day was always a cut above the rest of those bands, even if they were basically Buzzcocks 2.0
