Super Chan discussion

Post by mynar7 »

Hey dudes, the mellow tone forum went down so there's nowhere to discuss the Chan. I finally got mine and I want to compare thoughts. The clean isn't really clean on mine. There's some slight break up, I'm still not sure if I like it yet. I've never played a pedal like it. I think the singing tree might be the better pedal. The dirty side is a little weak too I think. I need to play it more...

Anyway, you cats that have had it for a while: how is it past the honeymoon phase?

Actually the mellowtone forum isn't gone it's just hidden under the inactive forums here:

But I like mine. I had the original ccdc so I knew what I was getting into, but yeah, the 'clean' isn't supposed to be perfectly clean. It does have just a bit of dirt to it. The dirty doesn't give you a lot of dirt unless you crack it open and flip the switches so you're running it dirty>dirty then it gets a bit beefier.

My favorite sound has been running humbuckers into it and running it into a fuzz.

I use clean -> dirty on bass. The dirt's not super fat but it seems pretty versatile. I like the art and white LEDs (dat Jazz-chan).
The boost level isn't as loud as I was expecting, but I think that's because I've been lusting after a Blowing Up for a long time now.

A beautiful Tele Chan arrived on my doorstep today and IT'S GREAT.

I am currently running it first in line: HH Jag > CC > DC > Devi Helios > Green Muff and IN ADDITION TO BEING SO GREAT IT ALSO KILLS them in the best way. I have been complaining the last few weeks about being flush with fuzz, but lacking in the low gain department.

Problem solved. :!!!:

Yup. I have a original and side by side they are almost exactly the same sound, which I have always loved so the super with controls to control stuff is just super! I use clean > dirty and I play bass though it, it is first in chain on my board.
