Re: OD after fuzz.
It all depends on the tone controls of said OD after fuzz. If it has the muff style tone control (the singular tone knob that cuts highs/boosts bass depending on which way you turn it) it usually doesn't do any favors for the fuzz. However, if you have a pedal like The Black Forest with more varied tone shaping options (seperate tone controls for treble and bass) more of the fuzz's character will come through and not get eaten by the overdrive's tone controls.
I could be wrong, but thats how my pedalboard seems to work.

Re: OD after fuzz.
I usually prefer od after fuzz but I have to agree it really depends on the od pedal.
My Owens Gremlin has mid range filters so can sculpt the sound of almost any fuzz I’ve put in front of it.
Pedals like the Jacques Tube Blower, Barber’s Burn Unit, or MI Audio’s Blue Boy have tone circuits which work well with fuzz in front.

Re: OD after fuzz.
i was always a fuzz after od kind of guy until i started to want to use my fuzz for more practical uses (rather than the usual synthy squishy tones i got after slamming them with od's)
i have my most trebly fuzz first, then my noisiest, then my more versatile BEFORE my distortion, THEN my od...
my od is a barber ltd special recipe, so it's pretty uncolored to begin with, so i never feel weird about slamming it with fuzz

I don't really like overdrives that much. I don't mind a boost after the fuzz (especially since my Swollen Pickle sounds better with preamp overdrive, but the Fuzz Factory kind of needs a clean amp to sound good).

Wellp, fuck. There's magic in the water in Canada or something, because the Elements on low gain makes all mah annoying poppy noises come true. EQ'd it to get dem Rat treblz, and it makes stuff sound better.
Interesting... trebley and then noisy and then normal?

Re: OD after fuzz.
My custom BAT is fuzz > OD (LSTR > OCD) I've had both OD into fuzz and fuzz in OD, i found that for me OD after fuzz worked better. The LSTR set with tone controls at zero and gain at max has a huge sound to it, but with no highs at all. Kicking on the OCD after it keeps the original LSTR tone but adds cutting mids and highs to it without stomping on it. The OCD without the lstr side on is kinda thin but cutting, so its nice being able to add depth and gobs of low end on demand. I think its like other people have stated that it all depends on the pedals your using and how your using them, so yeah YMMV.

Agree 100%, but its kind of a preamp/od so it makes sense

Rat into Black Forest is the sound of SUNN O)))
Seriously, I've been jamming on this combo all afternoon into this:
a doom trifecta!
note: the High School Musical microphone that my 4 year old uses to sing when we "jam"

Is the Peavey in the rack the Kosmos? How are you running it?

It is! I run it through the effects loop of the Concert Lead. The extra bottom end really pushes that Music Man 118RH
It's also a killer attenuator for when i want to run the Sunn wide open on the Distort channel.
I'm sure most of you know that there's like a 20db difference between the two channels.
As for the mic...I've been known to drag it across the strings in fits of noise induced madness!
