Speaker Cranker
WOW - the new Speaker Cranker pedal! It's my second ED box after the Hummingbird, I have it for just over one week now and have already used it on a studio session. I was looking for a powerful, slightly aggressive but very low gain drive/boost pedal for years and the Cranker immediately cut the RC Booster, the Bad Bob Booster and the Barbershop overdrive. Congrats to ED for exploring an extremely simple discrete design - just one transistor and a couple of diodes. Are these clipping diodes, did you try different types (like Germanium)? Doesn't overly sweeten up the tone, doesn't cut bass (very important!) but softens the attack just enough to enhance playability. It seems this is THE anti-Zendrive/Tubescreamer low gain secret weapon, just adding grip and sparcle to your clean tone! I just wish it had unigain when turned all the way down, but maybe this is design related. Again, two thumbs up!

Re: Speaker Cranker
I've had a total love affair with my Speaker Cranker since purchasing it as soon as it became available. I just knew that, given the coolness of all their other pedals, it was bound to be a winner. And boy, was I right! Since then, I've been singing its praises all over the interwebs. There are some great demo videos on YouTube, and it seems that the SC is really catching on (or so it seems to me.)
For the millionth time, the Speaker Cranker dominates all other ODs, hands down! All hail, EQD! :-)

Re: Speaker Cranker
Forgot to add, I love the SC sooooo much that I bought a 2nd one -- just in case anything ever happens to the 1st one. I mean, who could bear to be without it?! LOL
