So I have been completely obsessed with the guitar tone on this track. Mainly the perfect amount of reverb the guitars seem to be wading in. What could I do to get a similar tone? Is it just amp reverb?

I'd say reverb from amp. Although I can get that with the Dark hall mix high from my RRR.

Yeah, probably from the amp and production but most good reverb pedals could get you real close, WET, RRR, Dispatch Master, Ghost Echo, Boost RVB etc.

Re: Dead Flag Blues Reverb
There is something about this sound that has totally enthralled me. I have had a few reverbs in my day, but none of them have quite sounded like that. I guess I should be on the lookout for some sproingy verbs then.
Actually, there is one amp that got me close a long time ago, and that was the Peavey Stereo Chorus 212 combo. That thing had the washiest reverb I have ever heard. If you dimed the reverb, the original plectrum strike couldn't even be heard. Very shoegazey.

Lol, that was my first amp. I remember hating the amp, but loving the verb.

Production as stated. Saw them in a huge church and the acoustics and reverb were crazy.

Re: Dead Flag Blues Reverb
A lot of board pics have popped up due to the reunion. I would agree that it's most likely amp reverb. I think remembering reading about how they'd record in a room with a mic far away from the amp to pick up natural reverb as well. I definitely saw a pic hinting to such.

it always sounded to me as if there was a bit of tape echo on that? or something of that nature?
