...I don't know who Paul Baribeau is.

But I get to go to beddy-bye now, as soon as I get off my lazy ass. :hobbes:

I haven't posted here in awhile (college, other things). But things are going pretty damn well for me. I work at my college's student run radio station and everyone there is super awesome. Also, I'm an assistant music director so I get to listen to records early and review so much awesome stuff. I've already discovered some pretty sweet stuff. It's the exact community I was hoping to be a part of in college (fraternities eventually proved to be what I thought they were, at least to me. Even if I did initially enjoy them). I've also discovered my true love for philosophy, adding that on as a major. Although right now I have the greatest hits of useless majors/minors (Film and Philosophy major with a minor in Creative Writing), I'm very happy. Probably changing that Film major to a more general Public Communications major.

Edit: Yo, don't shit on Paul Baribeau. He's the man.

That's actually at a bus station at 4am, had a recording session and was going home with my bass and pedalboard, there's a blizzard, and the sign is saying that the next buss is gonna be here at 4:49, and it should have been there at 4:10.
So I took a bunch of photos xD Untouched snow with no people around. Awesomeness.
I actually didn't freeze to death.

I traded a midi controller for an acoustic guitar. I think I'm going to make it CRAZY.

I want to seal the hole, install a gramaphone horn, and put a dozen piezo mics on switches. I'm thinking of getting Texas Patterned Tolex for the face of the guitar, too.

Went on a fantastic voyage to Richmond today.
Ate a giant cheesesteak
Picked up the new Earth CD and also an Audio Active album (which I was amazed to find)
Bumped into the back of a car, but the dude said it was no big deal and drove off
Threw new tubes in my Electribe and not only does it no longer produce only noise, it works even better than before (OH MAN THE TUBE GAIN CONTROL ACTUALLY CHANGES DYNAMICS NOW INSTEAD OF DISTORTING THE SHIT OUT OF EVERYTHING)
Gonna sell my bass cab tomorrow
Bought a motherfucking sanshin and I'm only out $50

Yeah man! Went there with a friend yesterday. We've tried to find it with his outdated GPS on the way to shows in DC, but last time we ended up in this sketchy industrial area.
A bunch of warehouses and a single fenced-in playground
It's a cool place. Since Volume closed there aren't any record stores in my area.
Does Plan 9 have a section for crazy-ass noise and stuff like that?

Not really anymore. They closed downstairs and now its all just one level. It's kind of hit or miss every time I go, but I usually find some pretty decent noise-related used items. Found a Bastard Noise/Merzbow split CD, The Haters CD, and a few others last time I went. Really just depends!
