I've been trying to find a solid bass combo for a while now, but have never really struck on anything.
I played an Orange Crush PiX CR100BXT and was pretty impressed with it. I've also been looking at the newer Acoustic stuff, but really have no idea about quality.
Interested in solid state or tube. Not a fan of huge eq's and feature heavy stuff. Preferably sub-$500.
Help me out, bass bros.
Recommend me some hot jank bass combos?

If you are looking to stay in the 100 watt range, get yourself an Ampeg B-100R Rocket bass amp. I have one and this thing is the closest that you will come to a vintage tube sound from a SS amp. I have never gigged with it, but dimed, it can go toe to toe with a heavy hitting drummer in a rehearsal space. They can be had for well under $500.
If you are looking for more wattage, one of the rehersal studios that we use has the 200 watt Acoustic heads in just about every room and they get the job done. I play with at least two fuzz pedals at any given time, and the head handles them well. Not a bad head for cheap, but I would go with something more durable if you are going to play out a lot.

Good B/S/T dealings with: univalve, DannDubbleEwe, Shish, ThePastRecedes, GiAnt_ROboT, chutneyfarmer, Muse FTW, robapov, skullservant, MaxMaps, psychedelicrelic, guitarslinger21, space6oy, theshoegazer, bongoben, osbornkt

Try to find a used Nemesis combo. Those are good sounding SS amps.
