Despite the Fisher Price quality to the subject, that's what this is about. I got sucked in here via the EQD forum. Never owned a fuzz despite owning 50+ effects and being an effect nut, never even played a fuzz. Started lurking and thinking more about fuzz... then I got bored at home while off work with the flu, and in a piece of manic "I'm feeling good now lets do stuff" I attempted to build a bazz fuss. I've only built loopers and a couple of paint by numbers kits, never perfed anything. Needless to say it didn't work haha so after a few hours of unsuccessful debugging I got agro and went to General Guitar Gadgets and bought a Jordan Bosstone kit, then bought a Pigeon FX Shin Ei kit. So now I'm just hanging out, waiting for my temperature to go down, and waiting for the mail. So, my first fuzzes are on the way.
I figured that if any forum could appreciate the sentiment it would be this forum.

That’s quarter-assed at best.
so, you build a bazz fuss that didn't work and just order something a lot harder to get to work that's the spirit. but seriously, look it over, share some shots and we might be able to help you with it

There is a certain logic to my thinking - I can solder enough to get me into and out of trouble, and everything went smoothly with the GRO kit. I've soldered my guitar pickups and wiring a few times without probs. So I figured (stupidly? haha) that the problem was in the perf - i.e. I can paint by numbers (kits) but have no idea what I'm doing when "out on my own".
Will post in the DIY subforum (thanks Grrface)
PS hi Seiche - I like your posts over at FSB!
