Does this Exist or can it be built?
Does this pedal exist or could it be built? Low Gain OD with clarity like the beginning of this demo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0664kwI7is and when maxed could sound like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAevu-yKjWI

So, you're looking for...a Rat? Those are both Rat-based clones, yes? Look for a Fuzzrocious Rat Tail.

Are they both very very similar rat clones too? I'd say any 308 based rat clone with clipping options will get you sounding like this.

Yup, both 308 based Rat clones, with the knobs in different places.

They don't seem that similar... I mean one seems to be very low gain and the other very high gain. Yes they are both modded rats with 308 chips, but I've yet to find one that sounds like both of those pedals combined. The first one has clarity to the overdrive and the second one has a nice fuzzy quality. The Rat King seems very complicated.

That's the beauty of a Rat with different clipping options. A Rat is an incredibly versatile box, and the mods that exist for it (a la the Rat Tail) make it even more so. I guarantee that one of those pedals could emulate the other very closely, as long as you were willing to sit down and tweak knobs.

Honestly I love the low gain OD and clarity of the OD308 and I don't think it can get real high gain, Plus I don't think the Ratified can be that clear and low gain. Maybe i'm just being naive.

The only reason I'm so set on that it's the same pedal is that I did the exact thing with a Rat yesterday. Tuesday night, had practice with one band, Rat Tail pulled heavy distortion duty, and sound thick and killer. Last night, Rat Tail pulled almost invisible overdrive, just adding a bit of barely-there grit and a some warmth and clarity to my playing.
Part of the versatility in those demos is that in second bottom demo, they're using a different clipping option, which will make a night and day difference against the standard LM308 sound.

So your saying since the Ratified has that switch to change the clipping option, I should be able to tame it to a mild od? You might be right, but I don't see it having clarity still. The other pedal has the clarity, but almost no fuzz. The options on that just make it more tame. That's why i'm saying seems like it would be an awesome pedal if there was the ability to switch from both those clipping options of both those pedals.

What I'm saying is that if you track down a Rat clone of some sort that has the multiple clipping options, you'd be amazed how well they clean up. Rolling back on the Distortion knob and forward on the Filter knob will get you some really crisp, clean sounds.
Rat Tail just happens to be my flavor of choice.
Now, doing what you're asking, being able to switch between the two of those with the kick of a footswitch? Maaaaaaaybe the Rat King will be able to do that. Otherwise, you're looking at 2 Rat clones, or perhaps a custom dual jobbie. I know that if you go from one clipping option to the other on a RT, you do have to tweak knobs, and trying to do that while playing could be a little challenging.
