Using monitors with amp heads?

At my practice space we have a couple old school Traynor floor monitors that sound excellent, we don't use them all the time though. I am possibly about to get a '68 Fender Bassman head and was just curious if it's alright to use one of the monitors as a speaker until I get a cab?

As long as the ohms match and the cabs is over rated for the head you should be fine...I've used my cheap pa cabs to run bass when I use my twin for bass.
