So.... I was disappointed by the Interstellar overdriver. anyone else? $180 for that?

I know DBA gets ripped on a lot for their prices, but I was expecting way more out of the overdriver.

it may depend on the amp and settings. Devi seemed to be running the marshall at low volumes very clean. My bandmate runs an IO through a cranked AC30 and it's very fuzzy and textural with a lot of gain on tap. I've also used it in front of my twin reverb on the brink of break up and it pushes the amp really nicely with a creamy midrange distortion.

Not my first pick for an overdrive, but I wouldn't let Devi's video turn you off of it...

Yeah, dude. It sounded off. I have one of the older ones and I cannot live without it. It makes my 1970's Sunn amp sound like 20 1970's Sunn amps. And I got mine for $80. So... woo!

That section surprised me - I tried an older Interstellar Overdriver (the version that didn't have a volume knob, just one gain knob), and it sounded a helluva lot heavier & fuzzier than in Devi's vid. But then, I also played a bass through it. I wonder if DBA has changed the circuit since I played it, or what...

I was definitely disappointed, but i mean, it's on overdrive pedal, i guess i've never been one for fuzzy OD. I'm more of a smooth OD sort of guy. And i'm sure none of you will believe me but my american deluxe tele -> MXR Wylde OD -> Dr.z Prescription gets me a MUCH richer, smoother OD than that interstellar one, and i mean it's got Zach Wylde's name on it. I've never heard a good sound come out of his guitar in my life.

that harmonic percolator thing though, If i had money, it'd be spent on that right away. That, was beautiful. Not to mention it's for a good cause!

I play in a gay and allied band, we played Gay Bi Gay Gay this year, support human rights.

I basically need that pedal. I'm drooling.

I agree with a masses ^^^^^^^^^^^ on the DBA OD, I had the one bass one for a while and although I thought it was nice it hated my main bass and gave me the fartyest sound I've ever had. I've said it before and stand by it, the KP does what the IOD does but better..........> IMOP
