That looks great. I can't wait til the tolex on my SC B100 turns to shit so I can strip it and stain it.
Thanks, it sounds as rad as it looks. I'm contemplating trading it for a V4 though.
I've had both, a 120 and v4. The 120 was superb on bass. Much better than the v4. Clearer, bigger and louder. The v4 I thought was better for guitar. Warmer, thicker, and great with OD pedals for a heavier tone. It just needed (at least mine) the right set of tubes and the right speakers. I finally got it to sound excellent on guitar after two years of swapping tubes and speakers. I replaced the 120 with an old, more powerful, Univox and the v4 with a Mark III Sound City.
I guess it just depend what sound you're after. Both are completely different from each other and will respond different to what you throw at it. My 120 loved my DOD 250 but hated my HM-2 and opposite for the v4.
Let me know if you want to know anything about comparing them. I had them each for a few years together. Good luck.
^Thanks for the info. I've never owned a V4 or even used one with my guitar/cabs. It's just something I'd like to try. I'm in the process of swapping out pickups on my Mudfuzz VI and plan on using the SC with that. It's good to hear it handles the bass tones well.

Well, I have two tubes in it right now, but I'm still waiting for the other two. But even at half-power, this thing sounds fuckin beastly. Yes, I'm using it on bass, and wow, it cranks. It's really frickin loud, I'm worried it's going to be too loud, actually. Because to get it to break up, you need to crank it way up.
They are kinda pricey but you could potentially pick up a power attenuator.
I say that knowing nothing about how they affect tone though and considering I want a 400+ (500Watts into my cab setup),...I may find myself having to get one (is there a rack mount version,...that'd be swell).
Yeah, the turrets are great, everything looks so organized and easy to follow. Nick wondered I was cool with the turret design before this build. MOST DEFINITELY COOL WITH THAT SHIT!

Thanks! Honestly, not as bad as you'd imagine, price-wise.
Mine is 2xKT88 (80-90W) depending on how voltage is set. Custom everything, upgraded nearly every component but I avoided the Merc Transformers due to insane cost. Emperor is providing the headshell to match my cabs.
Total financial damage = $1500.00 (Emperor gave me a sick deal on the shell with my last cab order though, practically next to nothing...)
I just sent Nick an Email inquiring as to a potential M/B 400+ clone. I know glass is going to be pretty expensive for such a project (something like 12 output tubes[6L6s I believe]).
If Nick quotes me an attractive price it may be better to go through him rather than deal with a used amp and having to have it serviced and re-tubed.

Exactly. I was on the hunt for a few different amps when I got in touch with Nick. Figured fuck it, have one built new with the exact specs I wanted. After seeing his price quote and considering the cost of parts alone, no way I could pass that deal up.
Wait time is the only issue now days. If you've got a little time and don't need an amp immediately, Dunwich is an awesome choice. Also, suggest any ideas/requests that you think would improve that design for your needs. Chances are Nick can make it happen...
