Switching The Necks of Eastwood Guitars

So im looking at getting and Eastwood Stormbird in the near future and want to know if I will be able to swap out its neck for a jumbo fret neck? Please and thank you.

it is the same as a chinese fender pocket I think. american fender is 2 and 3/16 inch wide. if you take your eastwood neck and measure it, if it is smaller than 2 and 3/16 inch then you need a squire neck. I have a maple squire bullet neck for parts with jumbo frets. it feels great in my hand so I bought it and I will make a guitar out of it someday. I have a lotus body and neck from china. I did not like the lotus neck but I had to swap to another chinese neck. I needed to remove a little bit of wood on the body but the width of the neck was a perfect fit.

Can't you just get it re-fretted?

You would not. That neck is $50 or $80 on ebay. The refret work is $160 to $320 if you pay someone to do it. Looking at it another way. The fret wire is $10 but you need $160 to $320 worth of tools + experience.

Very nice. I got on here a bit too late, but now I know. I love Eastwood but I have a weird thing for medium/jumbo frets. Thank you, bro.

It's not weird. Bigger frets are more enjoyable to play

the squire neck has those frets that are jumbo wide but not so tall. that is what I like the most. you wont get the intonation problems you get from real JUMBO JUMBO wire. I also don't like how vintage guitars get the old fret grind and polish. it just leaves them flat with no crown on the fret but it does leave you with something wide and flat. you just can't run 11's on a squire bullet neck with the wood so soft. luckily there is a lot of variation in the quality of wood used on any Chinese fender. I have been a dealer and I know other dealers that pick them over for good necks. someone got a birdseye maple neck on a squire and put a regular squire neck on it and then sold it. a pretty good score when you consider any guitar tech has the necks as leftovers for free.

I suppose it isnt so weird.lol Its alot easier for me personally, I jump around lot when I play so it helps to have larger frets.
