I like cubist painting but I can't see any reason to have a reproduction of one collaged onto a fuzz pedal. I don't like mugs and pillows with paintings printed on them either.

I've built a Buzzaround and a Dizzy Tone. Like the Dizzy better, more nasty and more sizzle. Balls out fuzz.

thanks for all the suggestions, dudes. I'll be checking this thread again for sure if the Box Of War doesn't do it for me.
for those who suggested Superfuzz - great pedals, I love 'em, but again, that's closer to the Unpleasant Surprise for my needs - more a ripping, nasty fuzz than a big fat fuzz. that's my need atm.
btw, Wattson Classic Fuzz works great for blackface amps - I actually liked it more than the Harakiri for my Fenders. Darker, and that works better with those amps. Harakiri would be great for Marshall, Oranges, etc.
