I'm getting an ML

Post by htsamurai »

yup
I went to guitar center and there was a used ML hanging on the wall, there was a guy playing a strat thinking he was cool so jokingly i pick it up, tone the guy up and plug into a deville 2x12
 man....
i nearly pissed myself, it was quite toneful i must say. reminded me alot of an old Epi Broadway I used to love.
stock everything, and it had better tone and feel than the $1999 ES335 hanging a'ways from it.

...and it was $99
so i put the $27 down on it and ill pay it off little by little til I can pick it up on the 21st of June, then I'll just pay off whatevers left
....
i really don't need another guitar....
this is odd though,
it has really nice sounding pickups that say "Dean" on them
also it has a licensed floyd
and three knobs

all signs point to it being a '79 reissue thing, but its got a bolt-on neck....
what do you suppose it is?
the ML XT is the closest thing I've found, but its not that noir crap, that is to say its not a black out ML...

Shhh change that to a tele or a jazzmaster before people notice

I love the ML...top of an explorer and the behind of a V
Dean Z has a new version of the ML with his new company (he left dean because they are money grubbing cost cutting assholes). It's called the bird of prey and it is insane looking.

You'll have to shoot some pics once it comes it so we can figure out what it is
There are some that call me...morningstaru?

Get me a pic, and I can prolly tell you what it is. I used to be a pretty big Dean fan until they banned me from their forum for no real reason (I suspect 'cause I was openly gay-- because the reason they gave me was a lie). Then the quality of the guitars really fell through... I sanded down my Demonator bass and found something that was like pine but worse... it was supposed to be Mahogany.

Apparently they're fixing the quality issues... their cheaper bolt on stuff comes from a different factory, and it actually pretty good.

i must admit to liking those huge dean V headstocks and have always dug that model that looks like the front end of a explorer and the back end of a les paul (elite....cadillac...???). i have an old one (79) in my shop that i've been meaning to restore but i keep putting it off.
maybe....i ...should.....finally order the parts i need to finish it.
it sure seems that pointy guitars are making a comeback.

I wish i had a guitar shaped like a sword. or maybe the way you would hold three swords. That'd be a sweet pointy guitar.
I've got a fuzzbox and i'm not afraid to use it

It only holds one sword (the top left horn is the sword's handle, the body of the guitar is basically the sheath), but still - the dang thing is a full-sized katana. You could really redefine "shredding onstage" with this thing. :picard:
