I've got a vintage Foxx Foot Phaser... It's a good special fx/trick phaser.

I like the notion of having a "special fx / trick phaser".

Yeah, some pedals have good basic workable sounds and some pedals are just good for the tricky noise.

Never tried a whetstone DarkAxel, so I can't say. It's based off the small stone, so I'd hope so.

You guys with the sovtek stones mind posting guts? I'm curious, as some are tall font, some bubble, etc.

anyway - yeah, i know it's supposed to be a Small Stone thing, but i'm worried the phasing i'm talking about might be Green Sovtek exclusive... it never sounded as thick and spacey on USA versions to me and i REALLY love the sound (and the looks!!!), i'm just kinda on the fence because of the size, weight and the tiny volume drop (and of course Whetstone can do so much more... )

I've owned quite a few phasers (small stone, phase 90, polyphase, boss ph-3, foxx foot phaser). My favorite one is the Morley Deluxe Phaser, which I believe jrmy is rocking now.

Yes! It's a heavy beast, and a bit subtle on clean bass, but sounds UNFUCKINGBELIEVABLE after fuzz. On my live board, I'm sporting a Subdecay Baby Quasar, which I'm really loving.

I've got a 4/6 stage Rick Holt phaser going into one of his delays in one pedal. It sounds amazing and is very tweakable with 6 knobs. I also have a Damage Control Glass nexus that has a bunch of phaser sounds with tap tempo. I tend to use the Rick Holt more for phaser.

Unfortunately, my v1 Small Stone looks like this ... completely fucked. Dead when I got it and I was singularly unsuccessful in reviving it.



But this is a vibe -- which is a kinda phaser and I likes it

There's a sloppy 9v snap job I'll need to fix. Otherwise, it's in better shape than any other small stone I've had.

I'm gonna upgrade mine- new high quality jacks and a true bypass mod. It's going to be relay based. I just hate the little background phasering when the pedal is disengaged and I don't want to build a true bypass looper just for that thing...

Yea, that background noise can be annoying. Mine is going to be in a loop though so I'm not worried about it. Some times I don't even notice it.

At low gain settings and with no excessive fuzz/dirt pedals active the background swoosh is not really noticeable. But since I got the fix'd fuzz and the dirty bomb, and both engaged pretty much 24/7 the background phasering got annoying.

it's almost inaudible... PDS 20/20 has more bleed i'd say

I love my flying pan, but it's a pretty average phaser unless you're running it in stereo...in stereo it's like being on mushrooms, in mono it's like being on ibuprofen.

Phaser + Panner = totally amazingly earth shattering, BTW.
