flanger hoax

anyboday have it, is it as fun as the gear demos look. What kind of crazy sounds do you get out of it, and I know this is'nt BST thread, but i have a baby thundaa I want to trade for one. Anyone down? Please, tell me about this giant box of self oscillation.
"adding a room to the back of the house"? nope,thats my 16 12" sunn cab.

Yes, it is even more fun than the demos show
It is very easy to make completely wacked out crazy sounds
However, I recommend that you take a lot of time and actually learn what each knob does, because then not only can you make crazy noises with it, but you can actually get it do normal flanger/phaser/chorus and filter matrix sounds.

Having had one, I agree with all of this. Mine didn't have a manual, but this page was pretty helpful with understanding the knobs and whatnot: http://www.modezero.com/flanger-hoax.htm

The only things I didn't like were that there was sometimes a bit of a volume drop depending on how you set it and it was also pretty hiss-y/noisy when set to fully wet.

Woop, right here, best advice. I usually had mine set to some crazy phasey-flange sound, but then i could just turn any knob and become a noise band. But, because I figured out the pedal, I could then return to the sound I liked previously.


Took me like four months to do so though.
