NGD! Anyone have a "White Chrome Pearl" Fender?
Hey,
Does anyone here have a Fender guitar/bass in the White Chrome Pearl color? I'm thinking about buying one online. All of the pictures I have seen of White Chrome Pearl make it look like it is gray, and not really white.
I want a white guitar. I've wanted one for a while. I think I've just about convinced my better half that she should let me spend $400 - $500 on a brand new guitar.
If anyone has one of these, and could take a couple of pictures, I would really appreciate it. Also, if you have any of guitars with a standard Fender color that you could put next to it in the photo, it would really help.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

I don't own but I've seen one in person and it really depends on light/viewing angle with that finish. While not bright like Fender's Arctic or Olympic White, it appears white in some light but more grey/silver in others due to all the metallic flake in it. A white pickguard will makes it look silver(ish) more often than not.
Reminds me a lot of their Blizzard Pearl finish which is also deceiving in pics.

This. If you want a white guitar, go for Olympic White.

Re: Anyone have a "White Chrome Pearl" Fender?
Thanks guys, particularly for this:
That pretty much rules out the White Chrome Pearl. I definitely don't want a guitar that appears gray. Well, I do-- lots of them. But for this guitar, I want white.
I think I found a deal that puts a new MIM Standard Strat in my price range, with minimum sleep-on-couch requirements (I kid).
I've been on a white guitar / maple fretboard kick lately. I've been checking Ebay and posting WTB on Craigslist for months. Ebay used prices are within $75 of the price I can find new, and nobody on Craigslist seems to understand what "maple fretboard" means.
I like Olympic White, and Olympic Pearl, but the place I would order from only has Arctic White and White Chrome Pearl. If White Chrome Pearl looks gray, then Arctic White would have to be it.
Decisions, decisions...

Maple fretboard is the ONLY WAY TO GO when considering a Strat or Tele. In other news TELECASTER is also the only way to go when considering a Strat or Tele...unless you already have a Tele or two, then a Strat could be cool, but not with any of that rosewood fretboard shizz.

Re: Anyone have a "White Chrome Pearl" Fender?
I don't discriminate. I like rosewood and maple boards, and I like Strats and Teles, and pretty much anything with strings. I've got a long list of guitars I want.
There's a Tele-shaped hole in my collection that I've filled with a knock-off, vintage white with a maple fretboard. It's holding me over pretty well. When I get a real Tele, I want an American one, and there's just no way I can spend that kind of money right now.
I'm just looking for something a little different. I've played the same Am. Std. Strat for the better part of the last 18 years. I figure that a maple fretboard, different trem, different neck profile, and different frets should fit the bill nicely.
This isn't the last guitar I'm going to buy. I bought 2 guitars and 2 basses last year. This will be the only one for this year. I do plan on owning it forever, though.

A tele MUST have maple, no other option, only maple.
I go rosewood or ebony on everything else.

Agreed. And yes, preferrably ebony on non-teles

Re: Anyone have a "White Chrome Pearl" Fender?
Ok, my new Fender Standard Strat, Arctic White, maple fretboard is ON THE WAY!
$400.99 delivered.
Here's the deal. Worldmusicsupply.com has these things for $499.99 - 18% ($90) = $409.99.
Music123.com will beat that by 10% of the price difference, so another $9 brings it to $400.99.
I think that's a pretty good deal.
Pics when it arrives! Sorry to those who are disappointed in my choice. :P

It's here!
Unfortunately, I am not going to be able to plug it in and play it until tomorrow...stupid state of the union screwing up my Tuesday.
Here are my electric Fenders:

And here is the new one, a bit closer:

I'll post a couple of daytime shots tomorrow if I can.
