The new hollywood/total grouchy rant

So here's a trend I notice.

The studio releases a watered down, chopped up PG-13 version of a movie to the theater, and then puts out the ACTUAL movie on DVD in the "Special edition unrated maxi double disc" edition.

Lets count the screws.

1. You pay go dknows how many dollars ($8?) to see most of a movie
2. You then have an option of how to get screwwed. You can buy the DVD of the partial movie OR
2b) Pay an extra $7 to get the whole movie, and a bunch of poorly produced commercials FOR THE MOVIE YOU ALREADY BOUGHT (featuring all the filmmakers equating their movie to a cultural phenomenon at least, but possibly a message from GOD) disguised as "documentary features"

(And me, I get a special third screw because by the time I see a movie, everyone else already saw it in the theater and on DVD and they dont want to talk about it online.)


Fuck you movie people. put out the whole goddamn movie in the theater, then sell it on fucking dvd. Commentary? Sure, fine, I do want to know how that effect was acheived, if it's clever. I do want to hear some funny anecdotes and see your bloopers. But seriously, Hollywood, shut the fuck up about how awesome you are.

It wasn't terrible, but for a film where wolverine runs around sceaming for 2 hours yelling "khaaaaaaaan" it didn't feel feral enough.
Singer was better able to capture the essence of wolverine in the few minutes when the x-mansion was invaded in x2.

But yea...double/triple dipping is really effing lame. Grindhouse really pissed me off with the seperate releases and the absence fake trailers.

The "Special edition" is released 6 months AFTER the first DVD release. So therefore, I get screwed, because if I'm a fan, I rush out and get a copy the day it comes out, then get assfucked when i have to buy it AGAIN!!!!

i gave up on movies years ago, im probably as long as the M.D. guy. they just make me

kind of like cd's like smashing pumpkins put out zeitgesit, then they put out 4 colored versions, then they put out a red version with a book, then they put out one with a dvd.......so thats what......7 versions??? when all they couldve done is put out zeitgeist with a fucken book and dvd at the same time and be done with it, but the only reason im not completely makeing smoke signals about this is because their are two music videos on the dvd that were shot after the album was releaseed, or at least thats what i believe which i could wait for, but still rape rape rape

Watch Star Trek; it'll make you feel better. The worst shit like that was with Lord Of The Rings. When they realeased those extended editions like 5 months after the normal DVD release and I wanted to see the movie really bad but I didn't want to wait 5 months so I ended up buyin all the normal and extended versions
