i guess its just odd because they're usually incredibly sad and i don't listen to much sad music

Every time I write lyrics, I like them until about the 5th or 6th time I read through them, when I realize that they sound like Tool lyrics.

Word. I can write short stories, comic books, and plays that accompany my music. But lyrics? Nope. They all sound like Middle Earthy Power Metal junk, which is fine. But I don't play Power Metal. And if they don't sound all Power Metal-ish, they only make sense to me. And the fact of the matter is,guys, I can sing like a fucking lark when I want to. Fuck!

i can't write lyrics either. i used to really love creative writing but then i decided i sucked at it and stopped doing it entirely when i was in middle school. so now i realize i'm not that bad at it but it is incredibly fucking hard.

i hate when i look at the lyrics of a song i like and there are only like 20 words or something. i'm just like 'WHY CAN'T I DO THIS?'

also i confess that i sometimes yell at people in my head for wearing makeup. IT'S STUPID. STOP PUTTING IT ON YOUR FACE.

My bestyrics have the least thought in then and are often written in an "altered" state of mind.

Try this.

When you play riffs to your music, jam along with your voice. The lyrics will come by themselves. Don't think about them, just sing whatever feels the most natural.
I did that once and I wrote a whole song with lyrics and vocals and bass in just 5 minutes O_o
Usually can't write lyrics for shiat.

i've found that if i can get one or two good lines somewhere in the song--it doesn't have to be the start; you can work your way out from the middle or back from the end--i can build the rest of the song around that idea. assuming it's good enough.

my big hangup is that i throw stuff out before i get two lines in...it's better to get something partway done, even if it's suboptimal, and then edit what you have rather than plonking away trying to get something Just Exactly Perfect.

I usually just steal a line or two from a song I like and work around that. Or I might have one good metaphor in mind and then I'll construct the whole song around that.

replace emotionally stable with not a complete prick and you've got my romantic history right there. actually it is pretty rare that i'm attracted to someone anyway so I DUNNO MAN.

Sometimes there are all 3s, but they go through a stage of being 2 points. If the relationship is strong enough, when they come out of that phase, you can be happy together. It's what happened to me, at least.

And I'm on board for the makeup thing. I understand why my gf does it, and she usually just likes playing around with colors, but I prefer when she doesn't wear any. It's like, "Bitch, maybe I just think you're pretty."
