I liked tremulant, de-loused, really liked Francis, and Amputechture is my favorite (yeah, I said it, COME AT ME BITCH). Haven't been all that big on anything since. There was one good song on octahedron.

I think my interest in TMV waned after I got into bands like Acid Mothers Temple, who are more up my alley (and just generally not as manic-wankery).

I've only listened to the first couple tracks of Amp, but I really like the intro-I think it's the first track-the slow spacey one.

I don't think I could pick one or the other. I like the set up/idea behind TMV more, but ATDI actually has albums that I can sit through the whole thing and not have a single song that isn't awesome. That said, I do really like some of Omar's solo stuff. Quintet and Cryptomnesia stand out for me.

I'm glad that we are getting both new TMV and an ATDI reunion. Best of both worlds.

In regards to TMV, I have liked all of their stuff with the exception of Octahedron, but after hearing some of the new songs (Molochwalk is my favorite so far) I'm feeling confident in Noctourniquet.
