You don't know how many people think that their guitar needs to stay stock so that it's worth more when they hand it to their kids. I know the 80's caused some Les Paul's to be routed for Kahlers and other crazy stuff
but y'know who routed out some wood for wang bars?
Slayer
Yknow who didn't?
That blooz jerk with a Santana shirt that's ALWAYS in the way at the used store.
I bet if you sold those z pickups you make all your money back.
guitars are hammers if you put some electrical tape on the handle so the blood doesn't make the hammer slippery so be it.

Thanks. It certainly feels like Mjolnir sometimes after playing for a long time!

Sup y'all, I'm drunk on vodka screwdriver and realized I never posted this....damn phone camera can't get the color at all, its actuLly belair green, but it always comes out looking way too bluish in Photos...a little bit of a frankenstein, I think the neck is '87, body is early '90s, and hardware is around the same age, though possibly not original to the body. All g&L though. Got it cheap on eBay last year.

Do the SC-2s actually have hotter wound bridge pickups? I'm pretty intrigued by these MFDs.

It's pretty spanky if you ask me, but I don't have anything else to compare it to. It definitely has a ton of bite. Love that guitar. One of the most comfortable necks I've played.

EDIT : It does definitely sound and feel hotter than the bridge PU in my (similar vintage) SC-3, but in my mind the pickup configuration is too different between the two models for it to really be an apples to apples comparison.

Fuck. I'm very curious about the pickups in those--never played a G&L.

I have NO need for a new guitar, but I just stumbled onto these this morning and fell in love.

I wonder where I can play one...

Can't locate a pic at the moment, but my old SB-1 has been my number one bass since I bought it used 5 or 6 years ago...beat up to perfection, black metal flake pickguard on black body with the maple neck, and headstock without the little nipple they started adding on the bottom edge. The bridge design on these is nothing short of genius.
Felt like home the minute I picked it up.
Special low-frequency version.
