I have to write about the invention of Coca Cola and I really don't want to. I also have an orchestra concert tomorrow that I don't want to go to.

Write about the invention of Pepsi instead.

we're doing things basically since Jamestown and Plymouth till New Deal. A ton of names, a ton of acts and I really don't know what's important

BECAUSE AS IT SEAMS TO ME ALMOST NOTHING IS

Puritans (I dunno, they fucked sheep all the time or something), Revolution (Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Madison), Louisiana Purchase (Jefferson again, Lewis and Clark), Civil War (Lincoln, Lee, Davis), Reconstruction (A bunch of racists, Jim Crowe laws [Who the hell was Jim Crowe???]), Great Depression (Hoover, the overrated Roosevelt).

Oh, and Teddy Roosevelt was the biggest bad-ass ever.

EDIT: If your class covered the War of 1812 or the Spanish-American War or (dare I say it) The Barbary Wars, then you know more than most Americans.

Eating an entire bag of Fritos is a terrible thing to do. I'd strongly recommend against it.

Like, I'm taking a term off from college for health reasons, but since I'm no longer a full-time college student I no longer qualify for my parents' health or dental insurance, which would have totally fucked me over if Obamacare hadn't happened. Things like that are what make me angry. You shouldn't lose medical coverage because you have a medical issue.

The problem with Obamacare was that it [vast oversimplification instead] requires everyone to buy insurance.

Without something as rudimentary as a government option, that changes almost nothing about the problems with our health care system.

It's obviously not as easy as saying "We should do it like the Europeans," because their countries tend to be much smaller (geographically and population-wise) and much more homogeneous.

Mild Irritation: I don't really want to trek to the grocery store, but I'm completely out of food.

Don't you fuckin' hate it when someone spends 20 minutes rearranging the dishes in the dishwasher after you've loaded it?

Well when you put each dish in as you use it, it's hard to visualize the most efficient way to fit them all in. If you have them all there, you can approach it with a compete inventory. I just happened to have a conversation about this with my mom today. Plus they're the one doing all the work, so what's the beef? Unless they're dicks about it, but that's a whole different issue.

It makes me angry that people find The Big Bang Theory funny. It's a television show that's based on one punch line alone: "OMG they're such nerds!"

Indeed. That show is just one long, drawn-out geek joke. Not everyone who is in the science and engineering fields is a borderline-asbergers douche who has no interpersonal skills.

Also, my wife loves that show.
