Yeah, old games are hard. I think Ghouls 'n Ghosts is bullshit though because you can't change direction in mid-air. You have to commit to your crappy ill-timed jump. Games like that always blow. Except for like, Zelda and Metal Gear.
Contra: Hard Corps is my favorite old game This was the coolest fucking thing ever back then:

Challenging? Anyone play Jim Power: The Lost Dimension? That shit's impossible. I've had it for almost 20 years and have yet to get past the third level.

Just beat Rage on Nightmare, not too hard and the ending was so anti-climactic
They could have added at least a couple more missions, the story just built up momentum and ended suddenly without any real last boss or tough fight sequence at all. It wasn't even a good cliffhanger ending or anything
played the Final Fantasy 13-2 Demo....really impressed with the small additions they made and the overall everything of the game. I traded Skyrim by the way. It got really repetitive, and I got sick of the story having no depth or character interaction.

um........ not be a Douchey McDouche...... but is Skyrim good? granted, i've only played about 20 minutes, but i don't really want to go back to it. i didn't LOVE Oblivion though. is that a necessity?

Oblivion is shit compared to Skyrim, even if Skyrim is still not as deep as I'd like the game to be. I'm just bored now. I haven't completed the main quest and really don't care to. Was fun while it lasted, but I already uninstalled it. Still worth a go, I say.
I like exploring and walking through snowstorms on huge mountains 'n stuff a lot more than I like dungeon crawling and smashing heads in.

this is exactly why i traded it. i did the magic college and the dark brotherhood and 2 main story missions. it got boring pretty quick. plus after every set of missions, they make you the head of whatever it was. "oh you saved the magic college? well despite none of your magic skill trees higher than level 40, we can think of no person more qualified to be the head mage!" repeat that for every single guild. that's right. every.single.one. and the main story just wasn't that interesting. i'm not saying it's a bad game, because i did enjoy it for a while, but i just didn't see myself picking it up again.

i haven't even got through the tutorial and i'm not digging it at all. i'll probably grind through an hour or two and see if i learn to like it a little. but i'm gonna pick up the Redid Ico/Shadow Of The Colossus thinger tomorrow and go through those again. love those games.

skyrim is pretty slow...and i like character interaction, which there is none of. my roommate gave me Disgaea 3 to waste some time on until FF13-2 comes out at the end of the month

Pretty much my experience with the game. I actually forced myself to only do quests for the 2 guilds my character was suited for (thieves and dark brotherhood, self-imposed roleplaying ftw), did probably 2/3 of the main story? Then it got to a fight with the big bad, I won, and they're like "haha NOPE this wasn't the final boss, you have so much more shit to do" and I just could not be bothered. They just couldn't make me care about the main story at all, but I did really enjoy it for the 80 hours I played just doing sidequests and the guilds, and at some point I'll probably pick it up again just so I can say I properly completed it.
