Matamp GT1, any opinions?
Gasin for a Matamp GT1 but would want to hear if you guys have any input on this amp?
Will it do for aggressive playing? Like fast power chord riffing and one string palm muted stuff.
I understand that this isnt a high high gain amp but im here cuz i love fuzz so any body know i this amp loves fuzz?
And yeah i know about Dunwich Amp and would love a Wizard, but since its a small production in the states it would end up being too expensive with customs and shipping.

I've seen some demos of the amp, and it definitely needs a clean boost or a tube screamer before it, but after that you're in tone heaven. I wouldn't see why it couldn't do palm muting. It'd be a nice chunky tone, thats for sure

I forgot to mention that if you crank the gain, you won't need another fuzz pedal ever again.

My friend uses one and it's badass! Huge lows and tight mids with an overall looser feel than other amps I've owned. When you get to pushing it, both volume and gain, the tone is astounding and will alleviate the need for fuzz really unless you need some variety. Bedroom/basement tones aren't the greatest but I'm assuming most don't use a monster amp like this in their bedroom setup haha! You really have to open his up to get it singing properly, excels at high volume indeed!
I wouldn't describe it as a super tight metal amp on it's own but it takes well to most any fuzz pedal he uses so I don't think it should be an issue. It's super articulate also, doesn't do much in the way of hiding mistakes even with high gain involved.

Holy Mountain is Laney AORs. Sleep didn't find Matamp until they were touring the UK in support of Holy Mountain.

No worries brodudeski. AORs are sweet amps.
Anyway, Matamp amps are awesome, but I've heard a couple of touring horror stories about their bigger amps. Part of the reason why a lot of the guys who brought the name to people's heads have moved on to other gear.

Matamp GT120s FTW. I just am going to make my own take on the Old OR/MATs with 4 x KT88s.
