No bypass at all. Take a look at the pic there. The top left lug of the switch has solder on it but no wire. I cannot find any loose wires or open holes?

where abouts are the wires going to on the switch like how many to the board and how many to the jacks so on so forth
im gonna take a wild guess that an output wire is missing on the switch?

Re: Ibanez PT707 Phase Tone II repair help

this pedal has a long and painful story of not wanting to work. somehow someone worked on it and messed it up. all the sloppy work inside made me second guess what was original and what was modded. after some careful research and looking over the schematic, I learned that the relay is a factory ibanez part. although the melted plastic and mess of solder means it was probably removed and then re-installed. the power consumption of the relay in bypass was totally unnecessary in my opinion. after finding what I thought was a dead footswitch, I decided to replace the relay + footswitch at the same time. after replacing a dead trimmer and calibrating the photocouple, still nothing. the output jack tip and sleeve were switched. success! I actually calibrated all the trimmers with a tone generator and a circuit probe before I had the output jack working. tested with the guitar and it is still in the sweetspot judging by ear. not sure why but the bypass is not %100 quiet like I would like it. this is probably just how it is from the factory. like most vintage phasers, it is buffered bypass. also swapped the factory weirdo socket for something more practical while still retaining the factory battery option.

oh and I desoldered Q1 and put it in a socket. I thought Q1 was dead but it is not. TL072 was tested and does work if you need to swap. the original part is rare as shit.

I also want to send a big thanks to Dirk Hendrik for documenting the history of ibanez pedals as well as drawing excellent schematics. his site is http://www.dirk-hendrik.com/ibanez.html scroll down for the ibanez phase tone II (also sold as the PT707). Blind has the Phase Tone II. the schematic is the same. I will crosspost on FSB when I have time. the only problem with Dirk's schematic is that the relay is not labeled as a relay. its just labeled as switch 1B or something.
