Fuzz convert

Post by metalmariachi »

Talked to my son-in-law today, and he said he was thinking about getting a fuzz pedal.
He asked what I thought of Fuzz Factory.
I gave him my opinion and then lots of alternatives.
and told him “I've got a gal and several guys” come over and we'll play.

So Thursday he's coming over and I shall tempt him with many brightly colored pedals, let him make loud noises and get him addicted (“Luke embrace the dark side”).

and to think he was an acoustic guy, just last year I got him his first electric guitar, a beautiful blond Strat, which he has been playing through my daughters Traynor Bassmate.
Now to bring him over to our world. (insert demonic laugh).

I agree, this is pretty awesome. I can totally picture you scaring him off with your fuzz, never to return, but your daughter doesn't mind because she could never be with someone who can't handle fuzz, like some 90's sitcom or something. :idk:

You must start easy so he can easily adapt and then slowly increase the wild side... he'll never know what hit him... :ewok:

Yeah I'll start him out slow before getting into the Devi world.

Defiantly have to save the DN for last.

hmm..

Maybe the Blue Beard, move up to the GI, old Foxx Fuzz Wah, Great Wall then on to the Devi stuff. AE, SM, TP and so on.

I think this is going to take a few days.
Don't want him to OD right off the bat.

That's so awesome! I had an interesting experience demoing some of my pedals to a non-guitar-playing friend a few months ago. I was like "There's this thing called oscillation..." and proceeded to show him the TBD and the Wolf Computer on their craziest settings. There was also a seppuku fuzz overloader and a delay involved. His reaction was something like "So what do you even need the guitar for?"
:idk:
Yeah, so, ease him into it, and I'm sure you'll have him converted in no time. I actually used to think that fuzz was my least favorite type of dirt, then I actually tried a fuzz pedal and realized that it was basically what I had been looking for all along.

Nice. I have a friend who's been getting into electric guitar recently. He's been playing for a few years, but within the past 6 months, he's gotten a tube amp and a handful of pedals. He's pretty new to the whole thing, and is pretty traditional in his gear tastes (right now he's running a tube screamer, a tremolo, and an MXR carbon copy). Over the weekend I played with him twice and my signal chain included a modern Fuzz Face type pedal. His facebook status the next day was something like "______ is beginning to see the usefulness of fuzz pedals" or something like that.
