Has anyone compared a FrantaBit and Geiger Counter before? Pros/Cons?

Also spent an hour or so playing an MIM Tele -> Verellen Big Spider -> Verellen Coop 1x12 at my friend's shop this morning. Wish I had $2600 to get them all in one fell swoop.
Also played a Meatsmoke for a few minutes. Probably the loudest amp I have heard or will ever hear, especially the OD channel.

not direct A/B'ing, but i owned the Geiger, still have the Franta.

Franta stays more in the realm of Useful Sounds. it still gets super crushed, you can get some wobbley stuff on the crush side, and the ring mod side has some great stuff too. also, the amount of options that are available (you can select between what it addresses) with an expression pedal is pretty amazing.

Geiger gets more balls out destroy everything in your path, but it is the FINICKIEST bitch i've ever seen. the two i had both would randomly change wave form on power up sometimes, and that would just kill the sound i had dialed in. a slight button nudge can make it go from Wow That's AWESOME! to Fuck Good Does That Do Me? if it had save spots for patches i'd be interested in it, but it was just kind of useless for me. it can do some great stuff, but in a band setting it was... just..... worthless for me. for at home tweaking on a computer where i can record destroyed sample down and never have to dial it in again? GREAT. live where i REALLY hope it sounds like what i want when i click on the footswitch. not so great.

all ime/imo and all that.

Thanks, man. I do like that truly destroyed sound I got with the GC, but I might just have to go FrantaBit with a cheap distortion. The wave tables and everything in the GC seems quite complicated. I still should have jumped on one cheap aon guitar center's website. Bleck.

I went nuts with the 50% off sale @ Monocase. Bought a double electric bag, a single electric bag, a Betty strap, and 2 wallets.
Ha, considering buying a bass bag tonite!
Maybe partying will help.

My only issue is that the bass I need it for is a Mustang. I'm not sure how well it will fit/how much protection it will offer with a shorty.
Maybe partying will help.
