its pretty good! hoppier and with darker fruit notes than normal delerium. less of the banana-y abby ale taste.
less ginger-y than great lakes christmas ale.
despite the 3% difference in alcohol content, i feel that an equivalent amount of GL ale would get me equally wasted.
all in all, it made for a pleasant evening.
tonights adventures in christmas ale:
St. Bernardus

NICE!!!!!
You know that Left Hand is doing a run of bottled Nitro Milk Stout due to hit stores in January, right?
That said, the keg will surely be even awesome-er.

Yeah, I'd heard about that. I think that's really cool. But there's just something about having it on draught...

Samuel Smith's oatmeal stout is bullshit. 5.50 for that bastard? no way. crispin hard cider tastes like gummy bears and is therefore the only sweet cider i like, unless you're a hardass and count Original Sin as sweet Founder's Porter is just plain lovely. full body without being obscenely coffee flavored like their overrated breakfast stout. also, the St. Bernardus Christmas from last night = new favorite christmas beer

Damn I'll have to try that St. Bernardus Christmas Ale, I've had a few bottles of St. Bernardus Abbey Ale and found it to be pretty solid.
Just tried beer from a local brewery called Finnegans, it's a non-profit brewery that gives all profits to local charities so it's pretty damn cool. Anyways its an Irish Amber Ale and it was so fucking good, one of my favorites by far

well i've officially finished my tour of trappist ales aside form the one you basically have to order online and/or get AT the monestary. last one was a bottle of Westmalle Dubbel which i have to say was very very good. interesting wineyness that reminded me a lot of the Chimay. definite pronounced alcohol flavor, but it was more pleasant than the La Trappe despite both being as... alcohol-y my rankings: 1. Rochefort 2. Chimay 3. Westmalle 4. Achel 5. La Trappe 6. Orval which seems to be the general consensus at beeradvocate too. except Orval seems to have higher ratings. i dunno, i found it a bit harsh and somehow boring.

Due to our lack of variety in cider, I picked up some Woodchuck Amber.

Good move bro!!! I'll be picking up some Abyss in Arizona next week and bringing it home to Indiana like I did last year! (and I WON'T be sharing either!)
