TIPS::

SAND The Board. Trust me, those gorm boards are splinter sliver city. you'll be picking up/fumbling around with this thing many times. you don't want a huge sliver up your fingernail before a gig.

SAND BEFORE PAINTING start with a medium then a fine grit. it ups the sexchshyness 10x after being sanded

You don't have to use a primer before painting but it'll help. I didn't use any and mine turned out alright :)

Bolt the thing together first. before setting up Velcro, Power etc.

That said, Use VELCRO bolting pedals on is more secure sure but if you ever want to experiment with different placement or get a new pedal with different dimensions you'll need to re-drill, unscrew etc. it's a pain in the ass. as an alternative to Velcro you can use this stuff called pedalboard tape. I've only found one resource for it but it pretty much turns your pedals into legos. :)
