Recommend a Loop Pedal.
Recommend me a simple loop pedal for looping noise and drone kinda shit...
Preferably not a ton of controls, and small size. Simple.... Not looking to do a ton with it.

Re: Recommend a Loop Pedal.
Akai Headrush is plenty simple and sounds really good. I like how it functions also, live use is simple, bested only by a DL4 imo. Not tiny but not giant either. Has all the delay options but I always used mine exclusively for looping. One negative is it can't save anything but your last loop. Also GC sells em for $99 on special.
JamMan Solo is Boss-sized, sounds good, functions smoothly, and can save and trigger loops which is really useful. Capable of quite of bit but can be used however you choose.
Never tried these but Boss has that RC series and Hardwire has one now too.

Maggot i've been looking for a similar pedal. The boss RC series looks really promising for a small footprint, other than that like Schnikes said the headrush, or dl4 seem to be the pedals of choice. If stephen o'malley and mike? from russian circles swear by the headrush it can't be that bad.

I'd probably get a DL4, if if it weren't for the countless posts I've read on various forums regarding their piss poor reliability.
the Headrush seems cool. I don't really need another delay though... I have a DMM. Maybe it sounds as good?

Well the headrush is either a delay OR a looper it's not both at the same time. Don't hear much about its delay abilities but people love its looping abilities. So you would want to use it with the DMM not replace it with it.

Re: Recommend a Loop Pedal.
The Headrush stands up against the Boomerang in my opinion. Just tried one out for the guitar/synth side of my rig, really impressed. Simple, great sounding, not a bank breaker.
The RC's, in my opinion, have their problems, especially the new ones.

you can score Boss RC-20XLs for super cheap used, too - like $150 or so.
Maybe partying will help.

Re: Recommend a Loop Pedal.
I like my Headrush, but not being able to save loops and the lack of a one hit/one shot button kind of limit it for me. Right now the Jamman Stereo is on my mind. But for just simple drone and noise stuff that isn't really dependent on timing and/or tempo, the headrush fits the bill perfectly. There's pretty much just two controls in loop mode, and those are the two footswitches, and then there's a master level control. The rest of the controls are for the delays, which I've used before, but not really the biggest fan of. although you can get some weird bouncy delays going when messing with the "head gap" control on the tape delay setting.
my band is called CAPTIONS.

Re: Recommend a Loop Pedal.
I like my Head Rush a lot. my only complaints are that its loop time could be longer and that it's kind of noisy. running the output into a buffer or buffered pedal helps. it also does a rather good Space Echo simulation which i don't use much because the looping stuff is on a separate board to my main board. i'm using a TC Flashback as a second looper as well because it has lots more loop time than the Head Rush. it's surprisingly good as a looper but is minimally featured; your options are ON and OFF. it's also a bit harder to operate with the single stomp switch compared to the Akai's two switches.

yah. Drasp makes ugly bitches into prom queens.
another cheaper option if you want to leave it on dedicated looper is the Flashback. works well. but it doesn't do anything fancy. just one loop, no saving.

Re: Recommend a Loop Pedal.
i would spring for the jamman solo if you want to save your loops.
if not, you can use the loop function on the Hardwire delay/looper, it's prob your cheapest option.
or you could get a lofi loop junky for sump'n diff'rnt

Re: Recommend a Loop Pedal.
i hated the Hardwire. cool delays, but you have to hold down for the looper. not click on, click off like almos every other one ever made.
was super awkward.
