hah congrats! i kind of regret selling my Lion, even though i didn't like the sound, it was still a very cool box does your unit have a serial number on the back? what's the extra knob for?

my pedal had hair properly stuck in it
yep mines numbered and dated 2004 the extra knob is the master which is cool cause without it, its super loud and the master helps open up the pedal

yep, there's also a little sample of the Lion by itself. weird that yours is numbered but is from 2004. Slade told me that after a while John stopped numbering them and that mine was one of those later ones that had an updated circuit. here's what the Lion i had (and that now belongs to another forumite here) looks like underneath:
the one i have was owned by whoismarykelly first who bought it from john directly? back in 04 and the master volume was added by him it says #54 then the date schumann *master volume special*
yours kinda sounds different to mine aswel weirdly yours has a sizzle and flabby fuzzy sound to it
mine sounds tight and acts like a tube overdrive almost vox ish and the boost section adds a bunch of low end and sweet mids
