Looks like he already did.

Yes....this was my main guitar from 1980-2004. I originally played it through a Silverface Champ. Later it was through a 1962 Gibson Falcon. Back in the day I didn't appreciate the guitar or the amps. It was just cheap junk as far as I was concerned.

Keep the finish, switch out the pick up, clean it up a bit and maybe cover up the holes from the absent tone pots?

Leave it as is, just fix the wiring. If you cover up the holes the badassery of the guitar won't be able to escape and reach anyone else.

I would agree with most of the people above that it just needs a clean up and re-wire, perhaps a pickup change if you are inclined but if the sound of the one that exists is OK I wouldn't even do that.

Also the holes where the old knobs were have to stay put

That thing is awesome, I guess the challenge would be to not erase the massive history when you set it up to play well.

The eldred mod was a mod done to Esquires, it has a preset bass heavy cocked wah sound in one position, bypass tone in another and normal tone / volume function in another.... Give you alot of tone options from a one single coil set up....
