Sea Machine, other chorus pedals and Bass
Hey guys, I'm a bass playing and I'm looking into getting a chorus pedal that I would be suited to shoegaze/dreampop while being fairly versatile. Has anyone tried the Sea Machine on bass or know of other good options?
Cheers,

I love the Sea Machine on bass! It brightens up the sound a bit, but doesn't really cut any lows and sounds great, plus it's versatile as hell.

I absolutely adore the Sea Machine on bass - so many great sounds to be had there.
I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

I use the Sea Machine on bass and run an EQD Monarch before it. Set the rate to real slow and it makes for a great creepy, dark sound
but like others have said, still has nice brightness to it. Sounds great without gain before it as well. Plus, you can really get in there and
control the texture as it has a shape control which means you can get some squarewave chop if you so desire.

I'm looking for a chorus pedal to use with my bass, and the Sea Machine definitely has my attention. Anyone else used it with bass before? Also I heard it kind of gets lost in the mix in a live setting. Anyone have experience with that?

You could easily not have this pedal get lost in the mix. Just turn that animate knob up.
I never played with one in a band mix, but that's how I imagine solving that problem.
I don't really like chorus, but I've owned a Sea Machine twice, and kind of want one again...

Re: Sea Machine, other chorus pedals and Bass
I really enjoy my Sea Machine on bass. So many sounds in that box! But I too wonder if it might get lost in the mix unless the intensity and depth (blend) knobs are maxed. I only say this because I tried to make a quick demo video for someone over at TalkBass who was curious about the pedal, and I could really only hear it with the signal being totally wet and the intensity cranked. Granted, I was recording through my iphone, but I haven't had the same trouble with other modulation pedals. While the SM is absolutely a keeper for me no matter what, the jury is still out on how it fares in a live/band situation.
