Yeah i'm def jaded by owning 4 emperor cabs. I never would have thought the actual cab would make a difference, i always thought it was the speakers that made the biggest difference, until i got my first emperor. Not that speakers don't make a huge difference even with an MDF or plywood cab, it's just that I find it worth the extra investment to have a solid cab around them. All though for aesthetics sake i've always wanted to buy a bunch of fender m-80 carpet covered cabs and load em with decent speakers, it's their weird combination of shittyness and uniqueness added to their utter cheapness (that's alot of "ness") that has a strange appeal to me....

It's like your Epi SG - I like the way it feels, it was cheap - money-wise, and now it's got the best in pickup and electronics, graphite bridge + nut. I doubt a Fender Delonge would feel much better to me. Want to try a Bare Knuckles in the Strat like you w/ your SG.

Don't get me wrong, if I could flip my full stack + 2x12 in a day for one hawt Emperor 4x12, I'd probably do it! Hate carpet cabs tho. I've got a lab, so tolex only. Otherwise your cab or combo looks like it's done up in dog fur.

Back OT, when is someone going to flip a Black Forest?

Oh, dude, I know a band that uses one of those with a fender PA-100, and under that head, and on top of the cab (so, in between, I guess) is a Twin Reverb. Fucking loud as fuck. And, I totally also think the gross grey carpet is kinda rad.

So since i was toying around with the new head yesterday i decided to reorder the dirt pedals and try some new things out. I settled finally with the black forest back in first boosting into a pharaoh. Thick! Freakin super thick!! As much as i liked it as a clean boost at the end of the chain i'm back to digging it at full bore first in the chain, using it with eq settings set to the low end of the Hz spectrum and the pharaoh for mids/highs with gain at like 3:00 and both set to unity volumes. It sounds beast, this pedal has so many uses and never lets me down, definitely a keeper!

Kinda, after. But i was using 5 stacked fuzzes during the jam and i wasn't exactly in the correct mindset to remember exactly how that combo sounded. I have a recording but i don't know exactly what part ws that combo, i just know that i tried every combo i could think of.

Depends on how your run your rat. If you like to run it at lower gains then the BF could cover it. The BF doesn't have as much gain on tap as the Rat though.

Dunno. I pre-ordered mine direct from Mark at BAT, but someone's got one right now in B/S/T.

Beyond direct pre-orders, I think the whole first batch went to PGS. I think the second batch is underway. I'd just order direct honestly...
