Thing is intense! It works like in the demo... both controls are interactive and effect the oscillation and sound as do all you instrument's controls. And.. If you want it to be a "normal" fuzz for some reason all you need to do is turn on another pedal in front of it [like a clean boost or OD], has good lows, neat pedal!
