Any ZVex Lo-Fi Loop Junky user?

What's your thought on this pedal?

My friend has one of the old handpainted ones. I don't like it at all. For the same price you get a loop pedal that doesn't make the sample sound like ass. I also swear there's a tiny bit of latency in the recording but I could just suck with loopers.

I have one and love it, but it's not for everyone.
Probably useless in an average rock band, and they cost WAY too much, too.
However, I've come up with lots of cool ideas based on the warble-y loops, and I've just had it a few months.
Maybe partying will help.

I love mine but I wasn't too thrilled with it early on, takes some getting used to. The latency issue has been resolved, it was shitty in the early models. I use it primarily for background noise or weird layering now days paired with a Timeline looper. Shit's overpriced but unique no doubt. Also the only Zvex offering on my board in a permanent way, ever!

I really like it. Pretty easy to use, and very unique. I guess the price is the only downfall, but I imagine they will only go up in the coming years. I remember reading somewhere that whenever Vex is out of the old analog recorder chips then that's it.

I've never used one & it's probably really fun, but for that price (hell, cheaper) you can get an el capistan which does similar and an awesome delay.
Though the characteristics of the el cap aren't as extreme and are probably a little bit more limited.

I love the El Cap, but it still doesn't sound as good as the Loop Junky to me (for that function anyway).

I'd really like to try one then, cuz I'm loving the sound-on-sound from the el Cap.

The El Cap will get in the vicinity of a LFLJ but definitely not the same thing. The Timeline LoFi modes can get mighty close in loop mode as well. Until Strymon popped up though, nothing around could really come close.

As for the Instant LoFi, that shit is far inferior to the LFLJ. I've tried em side by side and they sound nothing alike unless you crank all the Instant's controls to the most extreme settings, pretty big letdown that one...
