I hate how most British accents and some east U.S. accents (but it's much, much worse in Britain) seem to have no comprehension of how to deal with the letter "r" when it's at the end of a word. Or when it's not at the end of a word. It is carrrrrrrr not cah. And it's America not Americuurrrr.

I just tried to pronounce the "r"s at the end of words but I literally can't do it without putting on a completely different accent. It just feels so wrong. And who adds the r sound to words that don't have an r at the end? I've never heard anyone do that.

My girlfriend does this to a bunch of words. She picked up the Boston accent. I won't talk to her until she says the Rs.

As someone who grew up in Boston, I hate the Boston accent. But I also only knew two people who had one who I came into contact with on a regular basis. Maybe if I'd lived in, like, Southie or something it would have been more prevalent.

Massachusetts has like one hundred million accents. And Boston is a terrible offender. There should not be like a dozen distinct accents within a single city. Seriously. It's just uncalled for. I go like three blocks from my apartment and I might as well be in a different state.

I just realized yesterday was my mom's birthday. Fortunately I haven't seen her in a couple of days since I've been at school for 36 of the last 72 hours (that was an exaggeration), so I can play it off as "Yeah, I knew I just wanted to say happy birthday and give you this *insert whatever present I end up getting* in person."

Also, I'm still not in a band.

i'm so fucking sick of being out of work, broke, and lonely. since my ex started fucking with me in court i haven't hardly been able to do anything because it's made me so paranoid and depressed...i've barely even played guitar for the last 3 weeks. my friend in Miami can't get his apartment sublet so he can't come out here and help. and dealing with the holiday season when my whole family's left me but one cat is just breaking my fucking heart. i had a phone interview today for a job which MIGHT happen in January...after it was over i went back to bed and slept until 7PM, because i have nothing to be awake for. i'm really grateful that my kitty loves me so much, because sometimes that's quite sincerely the only thing that makes my life feel like it's worth living at all. all i want to do is sleep. but when i wake up everything is still the same. and now it's wintertime, so when i wake up it's always COLD.

thank you.

i guess i still haven't gotten over the various things over the last couple of years that have broken my heart...losing my job just when we'd gotten the mortgage modification worked out and things were finally going to be OK, my gf gradually turning on me, then leaving and taking everything but my big grey kitty that she's still trying to take. i don't know if i'll ever get over it this time...when things in my life fell apart before i hadn't come so far or seemed to have really made a home. and i'm going to be 55 in a few days. that's awfully old to start over again, and i'm scared. if i run out of unemployment, i really don't have anywhere to go.
