I dunno, but I found it by google-imaging "sad sandbox."
In other news, video games are sweet. I'm lusting after NBA2k12 and the new team ICO game.

Dark Souls.'
Fucking brutal. I think I spent 2 hours in the undead berg, with no souls to show for it.
I consider myself a pretty heavy gamer, but I still don't fully get the controls. My brain just can't grasp the concept.
I flail about like an idiot half the time instead of attacking/defending.

Re: The Video Game thread
I just bought my first video game console ever, an XBOX 360. I bought it to play Rocksmith which is the only game I have for it.
Here is my review of Rocksmith thus far.
I think the thing about Rocksmith is that there will be haters.....they for the most part will not have tried it or will have problems with the latency and won't bother to set it up correctly so that it is not a problem. Hipsters will hate it merely because they hate everything. They think you will forge a completely original sound from studying Wilko Johnson, an old Charlie Pattons 45 that only three other people possess, the sounds of the clanging trainyard that is next to your bedroom, and from, of course, being a genius, as every hipster is convinced that he is.
I cannot give a full accounting of Rocksmith as I have only had it since last night at 7 pm. I have played it for about 2.5 hours so far.
At this point this appears to be a great tool to painlessly assist you in getting the fundamental patterns of rock guitar under your fingertips and it will help your time. While it won't give you a feel for playing with a band it will get you used to playing with other instruments. It will teach you some songs and it will show you some common patterns used in rock songwriting.
It may get you to play your guitar an hour or two a night.
Are those good things? I think so.
This thing is not going to teach your theory. It is not going to be better than disciplined study with a teacher or from well put together study material. It is not going to be any kind of be all or end all. If you are a serious student of guitar it is probably not the best use of your time. Of course Rocksmith is not going to teach you how to be creative.
The problem is that most people are not all that disciplined and this seems like an easy way to get you playing quite a bit. The more time spent with the guitar the better you will get. If you have the discipline to work through Berklee's Modern Method for Guitar you would get way more than you would from Rocksmith; however, most people don't have that kind of discipline.
All in all this is a great tool.....you just need to see its limitations. It is not a be all or end all.

Re: The Video Game thread
fuck fuck fuck fuck FUCK.
i've been having to get up and unplug my router and plug my 360 straight into my modem for the last few weeks, ever since i upgraded my old ass router. just FINALLY got Xbox support (after like 4 calls to them and about 10 calls to Belkin) to admit that they have problems getting Belkin routers to work on their service. gonna have to go buy a Linksys or Netgear. they gave me some model numbers of current ones that don't have issues with them. fucking ANNOYING. and it's been about 2 months since i purchased my Belkin router, i don't have the box anymore so i can't return it. it's only like $60 to get a new one, just don't..... don't WANT to spend that money on that.
damn it.
First World Problems FTW.

Re: The Video Game thread
Dark Souls: Ok finally have the controls down so I'm not evading like a spaz (though I still do occasionally cartwheel off cliffs/into enemies thanks to a double function attack button).
Just got cursed. F'ing brutal. Had to backtrack for 30m or so all the way to the bell tower to get a purge stone.
Reminds me of my MMO days

Re: The Video Game thread
still playing Dark Souls. About to finish my NG with my Dex build...may turn into Dex/Int or Faith build. Loving this play style as opposed to my initial pyro build. +15 uchigatana just shredding bishes.
