Has there been an explanation on the controls?

From an old thread:
fairfield wrote:Talk about living up to expectations.

The Unpleasant Surprise is a strange beast, hard to control and even harder to explain. Think of it as losing all dynamics, there's either a wall of sound coming at your ears or nothing at all, no in between. I'm getting some samples together to give a little taste of it's fury. The switches are loosely labelled G(ain), C(omp) and T(one). Onset is a gate threshold and gain all wrapped into one, particularly useful when the US is preceded by dirt pedals. Design ain't final yet, might be some slight changes. It sounds great with bass too, if you're into nasty bass lines.

From what I've heard, it might sound like a bit like the Smallsound/Bigsound Year 4545 !

I don't think so...
It's a gated fuzz. 4545 is based on oscillation (from what I know... never tried one).
You can listen to some sample here:

Those sound sample feel like there is electricity going on in the sound!!! I love that!!!

I'm not 100% sure since I don't have the UL yet... but I don't think there is oscillation there.
Any way... juste a couple of weeks to wait now. :!!!:

Hard to know...
From what I heard the only clip that feature another pedal is the third one (w\ Randy's Revenge).
It is described as a gated fuzz.

We'll see very soon I guess.

Two weeks... or less maybe? :wha?: :idk:
I've had mine preordered since day one. So excited but as much as I want this I am probably a little bit more excited for randys revenge to be rereleased. As much as I want a ring modulator I have been putting it off and waiting until randys revenge comes out.

They won't start shipping until at least the 16th. The week of the 19th will be when most get shipped. I know this is less than ideal considering the Christmas crazies, but we'll all have to live with it anyways.

As I'm writing the user manual, this came to mind...
