What's your favourite fuzzed out song to play to

Post by wsas3 »

Haven't learned another persons song in a long time, so I'm kinda in the mood now. What are some really fun fuzzy songs to play on guitar? If you're a bass player you can drop that too, just for conversations sake

I'm not gonna lie, playing along to Today by the Smashing Pumpkins is so fun. Kicking in a muffy fuzz at the chorus is the best part.

Also, Forsaken by Kylesa. For some doomy fun.

Lately it has been High Rise and Mainliner stuff. They're fun because in order to play along to them on guitar or bass, there are just three points:

1) Main riff
2) Do your own thing
3) Riff again if you can find your way back

I also like "Shotgun Boogie" by Church of Misery, various Earth songs and "Flood" by Boris. With fuzz and delay you can drone out that little 5-note thing forever.

All of Variations on a Theme, and At Giza if I've got the 250 out and gettin' rowdy. If you can cop the tone the whole "sky opening up" distortion part of At Giza is nutbusting.

Pretty much all of Holy Mountain, too.

And Art of Self Defense.

And, uh, for variety's sake....

I used to play along to the record before jams as a warm up.

Then we'd jam on something that wasn't in C and my brain would explode.

Man, I am one of the only people I know in my circle of friends/musicians that tunes that low. It gets super annoying sometimes.

There's one person I jam with/play shows with on and off that I can do that with, but we haven't quite achieved the level of doom that I desire yet...

Moar doom. MOAR.

How about "I Wanna Be Your Dog"? I hate covers but that song is so much fun to play.

That was probably the first song I learned on guitar. So yeah. I would have to agree.
